There are many special things about our County Borough. We have big areas of countryside and tree cover and it is home to lots of wildlife, including some rare plants and animals. Our old mines may be able to help us to produce our own energy in the future.

We face challenging times ahead. The temperature is rising around the world. In Wales, this means we will have wetter winters and drier summers, so we can expect more flooding and heatwaves.

Here in the Council, we want to do more to play our part to protect the planet and our County Borough from the effects of these rising temperatures, both today and in the future.

Our goal is that by 2030, we will be a Carbon Neutral Council and also that the County Borough to be as near as possible to Carbon Neutral.

We will be getting out and about in communities in Rhondda Cynon Taf and talking to you about how we can do this when it is safe to do so. Until then, we would love you to help us to find more and better ways to play our part as well as tell everyone about the great things that people and communities are already doing in the County Borough. You can do this by:

  • Sharing with us your ideas about how we can all do more.
  • Answering three questions in our quick polls about Climate Change in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
  • Plotting any Climate Change projects in your area on the map below.
