A new Strategy for Aberdare Town Centre
RCT Council has developed a Draft Strategy for Aberdare which will help focus future investment in the town centre to build on: “Aberdare’s unique heritage and strategic location to create a more vibrant, dynamic and attractive destination for both residents and visitors to the area”.
The Draft Strategy responds to the feedback received from early community engagement, carried out between November 2022 and February 2023, which helped to identify the range of key strengths, weaknesses, challenges and opportunities that exist within Aberdare Town Centre.
A key aim of the Draft Strategy is to make the most of opportunities to strengthen Aberdare’s identity as a great place to live, work and visit. To do this, a series of ‘investment themes’ are contained within the Draft Strategy that will help guide future investment.
You can read a short "Executive Summary" of the Draft Strategy by clicking here or if you wish to read the full Draft Strategy please see the links on the right of this page.
