It's not just about charging

I have owned an EV for just over a month and in that time I've been surprised at how poor the progress has been in Wales compared with over the border. For a country that has declared a climate emergency, there has been very little work done to promote the uptake and provide incentives for switching to an EV. For example, there are numerous examples of councils in England that provide no or low cost parking for electric cars in town centre car parks, including Westminster council in London that allow EVs to park all day for the cost of the first 10 minutes of parking! They also have over 1000 on-street charging points already. Other larger towns allow EVs to use bus lanes, enabling shorter journey times.
